Tasting Notes
Colour
Dense amber with coppery highlights and a mahogany edge.
Nose
An elegant, aged perfume of dried plum and fig, woven with resinous oak and cedar, vanilla bean and dark honey toffee. Subtle tobacco leaf, cocoa nibs and a whisper of cinnamon mingle with polished leather and incense, revealing the refined, time-worn complexity of a 30-year-old Japanese single malt.
Palate
Velvety and concentrated, the palate greets with dried cherry, fig and prune, melded with cocoa and espresso. Polished oak lends cedar, tobacco and a whisper of leather. Cinnamon, nutmeg and clove thread through the mid-palate, carrying a long, refined finish where resinous oak, dark chocolate and coffee linger gracefully.
Finish
Remarkably long and refined, the finish unfurls in layers of toasted oak and incense, with dark chocolate and dried fruit lingering at the edges. Spices—cinnamon and clove—drift in a warm, peppery glow, tapering to a velvet dry oak, a hint of tobacco and cedar trailing into a contemplative, luxurious finale.
