Yamazaki Mizunara Cask 2013 Edition Single Malt Japanese Whisky
In stock
Part of the 2013 Cask Collection that included the Sherry cask that was voted "Best Whisky in the world" by Jim Murray and the final year of the series.
Aged in Japanese Mizunara oak (indigenous to Japan) casks for a true oriental experience.
Very aromatic and elegant and very rare to find any Mizunara cask aged whisky.
97 points Jim Murray's Whisky Bible.
"No other malt offers this flavour profile. And as there are now very few Japanese oak casks still in the industry it is a malt worthy of as long a time as you can afford it. A very special whisky of very high quality."

Sweet, spicy and perfumed oak leads the aroma, leaning into leathery notes and new suede. Sugared almonds and coconut glide through wisps of woody incense, warmed with cinnamon and caramelised orange peel, all hinting at Mizunara’s rare, resinous elegance.
Palate
Huge delivery of sweet and oily aromatic oak, butterscotch, leather, mocha, coconut, spicy raisin.
Finish
Chocolate, coconut, aromatic spices, buttery cake mix, sandalwood.
