Hailing from the world-renowned Suntory distillery, this is an exceptional new series from Yamazaki. The 2022 Tsukuriwake Selection celebrates “artisanship through a diversity of making” by showcasing the impact different cask wood can have on an expression. The series is made up of four single malts – Puncheon, Spanish Oak, Mizunara, and Peated Malt.

Colour
Warm amber-gold with a luminous honey glow and coppery highlights.
Nose
A lavish, multi-layered bouquet on the nose: vanilla and toffee mingle with citrus zest and orchard fruit, spiced by clove and cinnamon; Mizunara sandalwood and delicate Japanese incense blend with a whisper of peat, delivering depth and poise.
Palate
Silky and expansive on the palate, this Yamazaki pulls orchard fruits toward honeyed sweetness, layered with vanilla, spice and a touch of toffee. Spanish Oak provides warmth and gentle sweetness, Mizunara adds delicate sandalwood and incense, while a hint of peat from the Peated Malt lends gravitas. A refined Puncheon backbone keeps it focused, finishing long, polished, and beautifully balanced.
Finish
An expansive, velvety finish that lingers with honeyed vanilla and caramel, evolving into gentle spices and toasted oak. A refined Mizunara incense note threads through, while a subtle peat echo adds depth, finally fading to a warm, polished wrap that lingers.
