Yamazaki Puncheon Cask 2013 Edition Single Malt Japanese Whisky
In stock
Yamazaki Puncheon 2013 is aged in 480 litre oak Puncheon casks and gives a softer palate due to the slower ageing caused by the smaller spirit to wood ratio.
Elegant Speyside esque limited release from Yamazaki that was part of the same series of releases as the award winning Sherry cask 2013 edition.
Featured in Ian Buxton's 101 world whiskies to try before you die book.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Golden amber with a sunlit honey hue and a delicate copper sheen.
Nose
Ripe melon and dried apricot lead, softened by waxy quince jelly and freshly cut barley and straw. Vanillin oak, doughy notes, and almond with marzipan breathe a subtle, creamy sweetness.
Palate
Frangipane and apricot jam mingle with ripe melon and ginger, set against freshly sawn wood, vanilla and white chocolate. French toast and egg custard lend creamy richness, while aromatic spices and a subtle goosberry lift carry the palate toward a refined, lingering finish.
Finish
Musky white peach and apricot persist, joined by ginger, runny honey and vanilla toast. Almond sweetness, pear drops and spiced lemon curd mingle with green fruit—fig and goosberry—leaving a soft, orchard-brilliant finish.
