A rare and 'Hard to Find' miniature of the popular Yamazaki 12 Year Old

Matured in a combination of Japanese Oak, Ex-Bourbon and Sherry Oak casks to produce a sweet and delicate single malt oozing with peach, pineapple and grapefruit with subtle vanilla spice and fragrant oak.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Golden amber with warm honey tones and a gentle coppery glow.

Nose

Delicate, inviting nose with ripe peach and pineapple, a bright whisper of grapefruit, and a light vanilla-spice veil. Fragrant oak from Japanese oak, ex-Bourbon and Sherry Oak casks lends a creamy, orchard-fresh sweetness and refined balance.

Palate

Silky and delicate, the palate unfolds with peach and pineapple giving way to bright grapefruit. Vanilla spice threads the mid-palate, framed by fragrant oak from Japanese Oak, ex-Bourbon and Sherry casks. Creamy texture, refined sweetness, and a clean, lingering finish.

Finish

Silky, medium-long finish where peach and grapefruit persist, followed by lingering pineapple sweetness. Subtle vanilla-spice warms the palate as fragrant oak remains, leaving a citrusy, refined echo.

Yamazaki
(yah-mah-ZAH-kee) Yamazaki was founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii at the foot of Mt. Tennozan, on the outskirts of Kyoto, and is recognised as Japan’s first and oldest malt whisky distillery. Torii chose the site for its soft water and misty climate where the Katsura, Uji and Kizu rivers meet, believing it could produce a style of whisky better suited to Japanese palates than a straight imitation of Scotch.
