A rare single cask from the closed Karuizawa distillery, this 31 year old was distilled in 1977 and bottled for the Daily Dram “Wait La Mazurka” series from cask number 6994 at a powerful 62.7% ABV.
Long maturation delivers the intense, sherry-driven style Karuizawa is famed for, with aromas of dark chocolate, espresso, dried fruits and antique oak. The palate is rich and concentrated, showing black cherry, treacle, bitter cocoa, roasted nuts and firm spice, finishing long, dry and complex with lingering mature wood and sherry depth.
