Tasting Notes
Colour
Jet-black, with a subtle mahogany sheen along the rim.
Nose
Bold, charred-malt aroma with a pronounced oak backdrop. Burnt sugar and vanilla-toffee mingle with dark cocoa and espresso, while a smoky, lacquered-wood presence threads through. Subtle spice and dried fruit add lift, giving a Loch Dhu–inspired depth tempered by a refined Japanese elegance that hints at complexity beneath the intensity.
Palate
Rich and roasty on the palate, with burnt caramel, espresso and dark chocolate up front, sharpened by a bold, charred-oak smoke. Dried fruit and vanilla thread through the middle, while spice lingers into a warm, persistent finish.
Finish
Long, charred-oak finish that clings with smoky sweetness. Burnt sugar, dark chocolate and espresso linger, followed by velvety spice and hints of dried fruit as the warmth slowly fades to a cocoa-tinged afterglow.
