A Hanyu single malt from Ichiro’s Malt “Card Series,” this Five of Diamonds release was bottled in 2012 after maturation in sherry casks and bottled at 57.7% ABV. Produced from stocks of the now-closed Hanyu distillery, it forms part of the highly collectible playing card series.
Sherry cask maturation brings rich dried fruit, spice and oak depth to Hanyu’s typically elegant, fruit-led spirit, adding layered sweetness and complexity while retaining the refined character associated with this rare Japanese distillery.

Silky and full-bodied on the palate, it unfolds with a tapestry of dried fruits—figs, raisins, and prunes—interlaced with spice and seasoned oak. Sherry sweetness deepens the fruit-forward core, while cinnamon and clove add lift, delivering a refined, lingering finish with elegant warmth.
