A lovely rich, dark whisky-colour more often associated with a dark Cognac.
A big heavy-sherried whisky, great if you like them big and powerful. This bottling is more than 40 years old but has lost none of its appeal. Still strong but not overpowering. Some vanilla and citrus present at the back of your mouth-almost like the caramelised fruit you'd find in a fruit cake.
A wonderful long finish, sitting heavily at the back of your mouth. Sherry flavours and fruit cake wonderfully balanced.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Rich, dark Cognac-like whisky colour, deep mahogany with amber highlights.
Nose
Opulent sherry perfume with dark fruitcake richness: dried figs and raisins, orange zest, vanilla, toffee and cocoa mingle in a velvety bouquet. A warm, oak backbone hints at 43 years in a single sherry butt, delivering a powerful, lingering aromatic finish.
Palate
Sherry-forward and opulent, the palate unveils dark fruit, raisin and fig with chocolatey depth, lifted by vanilla and a whisper of citrus. Caramelised fruitcake sweetness coats the mouth, while oak and spice add ballast. The ABV provides a warming grip that carries into a long, dignified finish, where the sherry fruit lingers richly at the back.
Finish
A wonderfully long finish sits heavily at the back of the mouth, where sherry tones mingle with fruit cake and caramelised citrus. Vanilla accents weave through the lingering warmth, leaving a rich, balanced conclusion that persists long after the last sip.
