A rare species of Japanese oak, Mizunara is seldom used for whisky maturation due to its high cost and inclination to leak. The exceptional Mizunara barrels, combined with superior Oloroso puncheons and hogsheads, have created an incredibly indulgent and complex single malt.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery glints and mahogany undertones, finished in a warm honey-gold glow.
Nose
Aromas of heather honey mingle with dried orange peel and crystalised ginger, giving way to cocoa, toasted tobacco leaves, and fresh vanilla pods.
Palate
On the palate, baking spices mingle with dried blood orange and grilled honeycomb, unfolding into rich cocoa and poached cinnamon apples. Fig syrup threads through the sweetness, while pecans and demerara sugar add a toasted, nutty depth that lingers with a warm, indulgent finish.
Finish
An opulent finish that lingers with baking spices, dried blood orange and cocoa. Mizunara lends warm sandalwood sweetness while Oloroso furnishes nutty depth, leaving a long, velvety echo of pecans, demerara sugar and fig syrup.
