Bottled by Mossburn for the Vintage Casks range, this 2011 Glen Spey was bottled in 2024 at 13 years old. Finished in brandy casks and bottled at a natural strength of 56% ABV, the release was limited to 347 bottles.
That brandy cask finish gives this Glen Spey a more fruit-led profile than a straightforward refill or bourbon maturation, which suits the distillery’s lighter Speyside character well. The cask brings extra orchard fruit, creamy sweetness and gentle spice, while Glen Spey’s naturally delicate style keeps the whisky bright and well defined rather than overly heavy.

Nose
Baked apple and fresh fruit salad rise with cloves and vanilla custard creams, while hints of cereal and hay lend a gentle, rustic outline to the bright Speyside nose.
Palate
Slightly hard on entry, then herbaceous fresh fruit greets the palate, with toffee popcorn, cereal notes and a touch of spicy barley sugar. The mid-palate remains bright and defined, while a dryish spirit edge lingers into the finish.
Finish
Dryish and precise, the finish carries a subtle spirit bite that lingers with orchard fruit and gentle spice, fading to a clean, bright afterglow.
