Tasting Notes
Colour
Sunlit amber-gold with honey-tinged warmth and coppery highlights; a rich tawny core that glows with the coastal sweetness and wine-soaked depth of Sauternes influence.
Nose
Coastal, malt-forward aromas rise with sun-warmed honey and apricot from the Sauternes cask. Notes of orange zest, pear, vanilla, and toffee drift in, joined by waxy oak and a touch of almond. A saline breeze threads through, lending sea-salt and brine to the rich fruit sweetness, creating a refined, high-strength aroma that lingers with luscious depth.
Palate
Honeyed sweetness from the Sauternes cask coats the palate, with apricot, melon and citrus zest, tempered by Inchgower’s malt-forward, slightly saline backbone. Rich oak, vanilla and spice emerge, and at 56.2% ABV the finish is long and warming, lingering with coastal depth and fruit-forward sweetness.
Finish
Opulent Sauternes-laced finish where honeyed apricot and orchard fruit unfold against a whisper of coastal salt. The single-cask maturity coats the palate in velvety wax and warm vanilla, with hints of toasted oak and spice, fading into a long, creamy sweetness that lingers gracefully.
