Tasting Notes

Nose

Vanilla and warm oak frame ripe pear and baked apple, laced with citrus zest. Beaumes de Venise influence brings fig, raisin and honeyed apricot, with almond and gentle spice. A whisper of sea air adds elegance and balance.

Palate

Silky, full-bodied and warming, the palate reveals honeyed apricot, pear and fig marmalade, lifted by vanilla from American oak. Beaumes de Venise influences impart lush sweetness—toffee, almond and ripe stone fruit—spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg. Creamy texture coats the mouth, finishing long, citrus-bright and softly peppery.

Inchgower
(INCH-gow-er) Inchgower was founded in 1871 by Alexander Wilson & Co. near Buckie, built to replace the earlier Tochineal distillery and using equipment from that site. Its history took an unusual turn in 1936 when Buckie Town Council bought the distillery after the company’s collapse, before selling it on to Arthur Bell & Sons in 1938. Bell’s later doubled capacity in 1966 by adding two more stills, and Inchgower now sits within Diageo’s portfolio.
