Glen Spey Infrequent Flyers Single Cask #4828 Whisky 13 Year Old · 2006 Vintage
Out of stock
Glen Spey is rarely seen as a single malt - almost the entire output goes into J&B. Those that do appear on the market are typically light, delicate, and estery. Not so with this bold, cask strength, PX cask matured offering! Deeply coloured with bold sherried fruit - dates and raisins - delving into thick treacle, honey and chocolate, with a spicy, liquorice laden finish.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep, burnished amber with mahogany notes and a warm copper glow.
Nose
Burnt treacle toffee and molten molasses rise in a dark, luxurious aroma, a velvety, syrupy sweetness that hints at the PX sherry influence.
Palate
Unctuous and fantastically viscous, it coats the palate with thick treacle, honey and sultanas. Morello cherries fuse with dark chocolate in Black Forest gateau fashion, sweet and syrupy under a mighty sherry imprint. Spicy spark and a trace of licorice weave through, finishing velvety, long and intensely resonant.
Finish
Velvety, exceptionally long, and densely spiced with liquorice, the finish clings with dark chocolate and dried fruit that echo long after the swallow.
