Tasting Notes

Colour

Rich, sun-warmed amber with honey-gold facets and a coppery glow.

Nose

Toasted oak and vanilla, with cereal notes and lashings of buttery shortbread, weaving a warm, creamy aroma.

Palate

Intense coconut, almonds, marzipan and honeycomb greet the palate, a mouth-coating sweetness with syrupy viscosity and a notable spice. Brandy snaps and peanut brittle drift in, drizzled with honey.

Finish

Long, creamy finish of vanilla and toasted virgin oak, with lingering spice and honeyed sweetness. Subtle coconut and almond notes echo as it fades, leaving a warm, nutty sweetness on the palate that lingers gracefully.

Jura
(isle-o’-JEW-ra) Jura was founded in 1810 by Archibald Campbell, Laird of Jura, and was originally known as Small Isles Distillery. The island’s name is widely traced to Old Norse for “deer island”, with red deer still far outnumbering the human residents. The distillery was officially licensed in 1831, later passed to James Ferguson & Sons, and closed in 1901 before remaining silent for more than six decades.
