Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with mahogany depth and a coppery glow.

Nose

Damp oak with fallen autumn leaves, wrapped in a sweet, earthy undercurrent. Rustic, inviting—and hints of quiet, aged sweetness beneath the wood.

Palate

Oily and moreish, with cinnamon and clove spice and a generous undercurrent of salted caramel that coats the palate and lingers.

Finish

Long, lingering finish that savors charred oak and burnt brown sugar, slowly giving way to orchard fruits with a final touch of spice and a warm, resinous memory.

Jura
(isle-o’-JEW-ra) Jura was founded in 1810 by Archibald Campbell, Laird of Jura, and was originally known as Small Isles Distillery. The island’s name is widely traced to Old Norse for “deer island”, with red deer still far outnumbering the human residents. The distillery was officially licensed in 1831, later passed to James Ferguson & Sons, and closed in 1901 before remaining silent for more than six decades.
