The modern distillery was rebuilt and reopened in 1963, bringing whisky production back to the small Hebridean island community. Jura draws its water from Market Loch, also known as Loch a’Bhaile Mhargaidh, and uses notably tall stills to produce a fruit-led, balanced island malt. Now owned by Whyte & Mackay, the range covers approachable bourbon and sherry cask styles alongside richer, limited and occasionally peated releases.
