Tasting Notes

Nose

Very fruity nose with tinned pineapples, melons, lemons, apples and pears, followed by floral notes of potpourri and fresh garden roses. A drop of water entices Parma Violet sweets, adding a delicate violet sweetness to the aroma.

Palate

The taste mirrors what was encountered on the nose with the addition of cinnamon and cloves. An intriguing earthy note adds to the complexity. With water the fruity notes become more dominant.

Jura
(isle-o’-JEW-ra) Jura was founded in 1810 by Archibald Campbell, Laird of Jura, and was originally known as Small Isles Distillery. The island’s name is widely traced to Old Norse for “deer island”, with red deer still far outnumbering the human residents. The distillery was officially licensed in 1831, later passed to James Ferguson & Sons, and closed in 1901 before remaining silent for more than six decades.
