This 17-year-old Jura was matured in a refill barrel and bottled at 54.8% ABV, with a tiny outturn of just 125 bottles. Rather than leaning into oak or finishing casks, it focuses on a pure, waxy and wonderfully coastal expression of Jura, delivered in an honest and deeply expressive style.
The profile is thick with character: mechanical, mineral and oily, with the distillery’s unmistakable coastal edge running right through it. It is a hugely charismatic Jura, full of texture and old-school distillate appeal, with the refill barrel allowing that naturally funky island style to speak clearly.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Light straw-gold with a subtle sun-kissed amber glow.
Nose
Very waxy and almost greasy on the nose, with olive oil, overripe lemons, subtle green and exotic fruits, plus coastal and mineral notes.
Palate
Mouth-filling and oily, it coats the palate with olive brine and lemon chutney, tempered by rapeseed oil and camphor. Hessian, dried exotic fruits and mineral oil mingle with a coastal wax, finishing long with a saline, mineral bite.
Finish
A long, fat, oily finish that lingers with vigorous waxiness and mineral resonance, echoing Jura’s coastal oiliness.
