Tasting Notes
Colour
Golden amber with warm coppery glints and a whisper of mahogany, a sunlit caramel glow.
Nose
New carpet meets a sweet-shop breeze: waxy vanilla and cotton candy veil red fruit jelly, with a faint solvent note of fresh fibre. Sherry sweetness folds in plums and raisins, while warm oak, honey, and spice weave a creamy, opulent perfume that lingers invitingly.
Palate
Opulent and concentrated, this 12-year-old Glen Ord floods the palate with sherried dark fruit—fig, date, plum—lifted by orange zest and a touch of toffee. Velvet syrup coats the tongue, revealing cocoa, almond paste and spice. A warming, high‑ABV glow threads through, finishing long with nutty, resinous notes and a faint leather echo.
Finish
Long, luxurious finish of sherried sweetness—honeyed vanilla, toffee and orange zest—woven with soft spice. The candy-shop memory lingers as toasted oak and a whisper of dried fruit persist, leaving a warm, velvety finish that slowly fades to a comforting, resinous hush.
