Distilled in 1996 and bottled in 2020, this 23-year-old Glen Keith was released by Wemyss Malts as part of their single cask series. Matured in a sherry cask for over two decades, the cask yielded 609 bottles, bottled at a natural 54.6% ABV. As with all Wemyss single cask bottlings, the name “Turmeric Caramel Latte” reflects the flavour profile discovered in the cask.
Glen Keith Distillery, located in Keith in Speyside, was founded in 1957 and was one of the first modern distilleries built in Scotland in the post-war era. Much of its production has traditionally gone into blends, meaning older single malt releases such as this are relatively uncommon and offer an excellent opportunity to explore the distillery’s spirit with long maturation.

Tasting Notes
Nose
Cocoa flakes, toffee, caramel sauce and marzipan converge into a lush sweetness, suffused with a subtle earthy undertone that hints at the cask’s sherried depth.
Palate
Creamy and spicy with ginger, brandy snaps, chai latte and ground turmeric root, followed by almond milk and sweet juicy apple notes, again toffee and caramel.
Finish
Spicy in the finish with ginger tea and turmeric spice.
