Invergordon Wemyss Malts - Vintage Chesterfields Single Cask Whisky 30 Year Old · 1988 Vintage
In stock
This Whisky is evocation in a bottle. An undeniably superb and overall satisfying Whisky from Invergordon, from the first sips to the last.
The aromas are reminiscent of a furniture store stocked with cracked leather backed chairs with the heady fragrance of a tobacconist’s humidor. The flavour is initially sweet, like corn syrup with a rum like quality, this rich Single Cask becomes more spicy and mildly fizzy with mint notes. Eventually develops into dry walnut, red grapes and raisins, evocative of oloroso sherry. The drying fruit notes develop into the heat of mace and chili with a sweet cake like finish.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold core and mahogany edges.
Nose
Cracked leather chairs and the heady fragrance of a tobacconist’s humidor define the nose—furniture-store richness of polished wood and aged tobacco, a refined, resinous invitation to the sips to come.
Palate
Initially sweet, like corn syrup with a rum‑like warmth, the palate expands into a spicy, lightly fizzy bite with mint. It evolves to dry walnut, red grape and raisin, evocative of oloroso sherry, while drying fruit carries mace and chili heat, finishing on a warm, sugared cake note.
Finish
Drying fruit lingers, its heat of mace and chili weaving through the palate, resolving into a sweet cake-like finish.
