Distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2022, this 25-year-old Glenrothes was released by Wemyss Malts as part of their single cask range. Matured in a hogshead, the cask yielded 152 bottles, bottled at 45.4% ABV. As with other Wemyss releases, the name “The Banquet” reflects the character and flavour profile discovered in the cask.
Glenrothes Distillery, founded in 1879 in Rothes, is known for producing a rich and elegant Speyside spirit, often showing layers of orchard fruit, spice and gentle sweetness that develop beautifully with long maturation. Extended ageing in traditional oak casks allows the distillery’s naturally rounded character to gain depth and complexity over time.

Nose
Lemon toffee sweets. Sea-sprayed mint. Honey coated salted nuts. Bergamot candles.
Palate
Spun-sugar tuille biscuit filled with rich red fruits, topped with chopped mint. With water, red and pink peppercorns, yoghurt coated red fruits and strawberry and cream sweets.
Finish
Long, smooth and rewarding with a dissipating exotic wood spice note.
