Glenrothes Mackillop's Choice Single Cask #100088 Whisky 33 Year Old · 1987 Vintage
In stock
A beautifully sherried Glenrothes bottled by Mackillop's Choice. Matured for an impressive 33 years in a single Sherry Cask before being bottled at 40.9% ABV.
A real treat for fans of the sherried Speyside style, this has lots of the classic fruit cake, spice and sweetness flavours. While not a sherry monster by any means, this is a nicely balanced malt and the lower ABV makes this very approachable.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery highlights and mahogany edges.
Nose
Nicely balanced sherry influence on the nose, with rich sweetness, raisins from fruitcake, subtle spice and a hint of liquorice.
Palate
Sweet sherry coats the palate with fruitcake richness, mingled with candied orange peel and liquorice. A gentle spice lifts the sweetness, delivering a balanced, approachable finish.
Finish
An exceptionally long finish that opens with honeyed sweetness, dried fruit and candied orange, carrying a soft sherry echo. It unfolds into a spice-forward finale—cinnamon, nutmeg, clove—ending with a delicate note of liquorice and a kiss of oak. The sweetness lingers before fading into warming spice, inviting the next sip.
