A 13 year old Glen Elgin, bottled as part of the new range of Reserve Cask Single Malt of Scotland whiskies. This series is designed as an entry into the SMOS range which leads onto the higher strength and usually higher aged single cask bottlings. An ideal spring/summer whisky this and a distillery that is often overlooked. A lightly fruity, fresh and green Glen Elgin with thicker, waxier notes on the palate.

Colour
Pale straw gold with a bright, sunlit gleam.
Nose
Fresh, green and lightly fruity; green apple and pear lift with citrus zest, while a subtle waxy sheen and faint cereal notes lend a crisp, clean profile.
Palate
Bright and lightly fruity, with green apple, pear and a peel of citrus, lifted by fresh herb notes. The palate thickens into a waxier, slightly oily texture, delivering a mouth-coating feel that carries the fruit through to a clean, green finish with whisperings of vanilla and almond.
Finish
Polished and lingering, the finish carries fresh green fruit—apple and pear—fed by a subtle waxy beeswax texture that slowly fades with a delicate touch of oak.
