Distillery Bottling

Fercullan Falls is a blend of malt and grain whiskeys, with a high malt content highlighting the unique style of the Powerscourt distillery. A 50/50 blend, the malt whiskey has matured in first fill ex bourbon barrels and the grain in a combination of ex bourbon and new heavy char oak casks.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Golden amber with warm honey tones and a subtle bronze glow.

Nose

Warm vanilla and toffee rise, mingling with orchard fruit and a hint of citrus zest. Honeyed malt sweetness meets gentle oak from first-fill bourbon and new heavy-char casks, lightly spiced with ginger and white pepper for a bright, creamy aroma.

Palate

Silky, medium-bodied with a creamy malt spine and a whisper of grain sweetness. Vanilla, toffee and honey mingle with orchard fruit, citrus zest and ginger spice from toasty, charred oak. The finish is warm and lingering, with gentle oak tannins and a bright citrus glow.

Finish

Silky, lingering finish of vanilla and toffee from the bourbon influence, woven with grain sweetness and soft oak. Subtle spice—cinnamon and ginger—rises with a hint of orange zest, while a gentle char and malt echo long after swallowing, leaving a warm, refined sweetness that gradually fades to a clean, elegant finish.

Fercullen is the whiskey brand of Powerscourt Distillery at Powerscourt Estate in Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow. The distillery began producing whiskey in 2018 in the estate’s old Mill House, a heritage building dating to the 1730s, returning whiskey production to Enniskerry and Wicklow after more than a century. The name comes from Fera Cualann, the old Gaelic name for the surrounding territory.
