Following the glowing reception and success of the 2020 release of the first “Five Elements” 18YO malt, Master Distiller Noel Sweeney has unveiled his latest expression of the “Five Elements” series, limited to just 1,500 bottles.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Aromas of warm malt and citrus rise with vanilla, honey and a twist of lemon, then unfold into ripe fruits—plums, raisins and tropical notes of pineapple, mango and banana—lifted by cinnamon, oak and a hint of nuttiness.

Palate

Layer upon layer of smooth, silky sweet malt unfolds with orange, fruit cocktail, and chocolate, mingling with Christmas cake, tropical fruit and red grape skins. Waves of complexity roll across the palate, delivering persistent sweetness and a velvety, refined finish.

Finish

Long lasting sweetness from ripe fruits and cream produce a velvety texture and mouth-watering finish.

Fercullen is the whiskey brand of Powerscourt Distillery at Powerscourt Estate in Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow. The distillery began producing whiskey in 2018 in the estate’s old Mill House, a heritage building dating to the 1730s, returning whiskey production to Enniskerry and Wicklow after more than a century. The name comes from Fera Cualann, the old Gaelic name for the surrounding territory.
