There’s a focus at Elsburn for using the highest quality casks available, the vast majority of casks are first fill, and only used once. This seven year old whisky hails from an ex-Rivesaltes dessert wine cask, and has been bottled at natural cask strength.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with a molten copper glow and rich mahogany undertones.
Nose
Sweet honeyed aromas fuse with roasted nuts - almonds and pistachios - evoking pink and white nougat. Dried fruits rise next: raisins, prunes and apricot, adding sun-kissed depth to the bouquet.
Palate
A rich, wonderfully balanced palate with walnut oil and almond butter, accompanied by spicy wood. Leather and cocoa deepen the profile, with plenty of dried fruits lingering.
Finish
A long, spicy finish that lingers with cinnamon and clove, wrapped in toasted wood and cocoa. Dried fruit echoes—raisin, prune, apricot—trailing behind as the warmth slowly fades.
