Overeem Batch 3 is a 5 year old Single Malt Whisky, matured in a ex-Apera cask. Founded in 2007 by Casey Overeem, Overeem was the fourth ever Whisky distillery in Tasmania.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with coppery glints and a warm reddish-gold glow.

Nose

Raisins, fig and apricot mingle with caramel, toffee and orange zest. Nutty almond and cocoa dust add depth, while a gentle spice and leather note from the ex-Apera cask lends oxidative warmth and a vanillic, toasty perfume.

Palate

Opulent and balanced, the palate opens with dried plum and fig, crowned by toffee and brown sugar. Orange zest hints at citrus, while toasted oak and gentle spice carry a creamy, velvety texture. The ex-Apera cask delivers rancio sweetness and a subtle nuttiness, finishing with warm cacao and a crisp, peppery lift.

Finish

Opulent and long, the finish lingers with dried fig and raisin sweetness tempered by toasted oak. Apricot glaze and cocoa notes emerge from the ex-Apera cask, with a touch of nutmeg and spice echoing in the background, fading to vanilla warmth and a refined tannic edge that coats the palate.
