Another superb Single Grain Whisky from the Boutiyue-y Whisky Company. Sadly the distillery closed in 2002, but well aged examples are still available (for now) and are amongst the finest and most sought after of Single Grains.
Overall: A knockout dram. Lots of delicious flavours are muddled together beautifully here.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with mahogany tones and a warm copper glow.
Nose
Thick, dark and sweet, this nose is laden with treacle toffee, coffee grounds and bramble berries. Rich, meaty notes unfold into honey-glazed smoked game meat and walnut oil, with antique oak and a touch of leather underscoring the aroma.
Palate
Flamed citrus, dark chocolate and plenty of sticky dried fruit initially, with peanut brittle, damp wood and flickers of oak spice coming to the fore with time.
Finish
A lingering finish of marmalade on warm, thick-sliced brown bread, with tangy citrus and honeyed sweetness tapering to a toasted, comforting crust.
