The Mossburn Vintage Casks range are a collection of Single Malt Scotch Whiskies each issuing from a strictly limited and select batch of casks from some of Scotland's most destinguished distilleries.
The Mossburn company of distillers and blenders will have a distillery in the Borders soon and are also the company behind the new and now operational Torabhaig distillery on Skye.
Each numbered release will only ever yield a finite number of bottles.
Release number 5 is a small batch Craigellachie, a Speyside distillery famous for being in the same village as Macallan and the hotel of the same name with an impressive range of whiskies in its bar.
Aged for 10 years in a refill Hogshead.
Distilled 2007 Bottled 30/11/2017 without any colouring or chill filtration.
Classic Craigellachie, Speyside with a much more oily, aromatic and floral citrus style.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Golden amber with a sunlit, honeyed glow.
Nose
Quince jelly and waxy orchard fruits unfold with fresh barley and wet straw, brightened by lemon icing. Toasted almonds lend warmth, while white marshmallow and a sherbet lift impart a lilting, confectionary edge.
Palate
Malted milk biscuits and lovehearts form a comforting base, with parma violets lending a floral lift, lemon bonbons brightening the palate, and sugared almonds weaving through a herbal-mineral body.
Finish
Peppery, oily and malty, finishing with a sweet-shop pick‑and‑mix fizz, waxy lemon and barley sweetness, and lingering floral Parma violet notes.
