A Craigellachie single malt from The Octave series, this 13 year old was distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2024 after maturation in an Oloroso sherry octave cask. Bottled at 54.6% ABV, the release was limited to 94 bottles.
Octave casks, much smaller than traditional sherry casks, intensify wood interaction and concentrate flavour. The Oloroso maturation brings rich dried fruit sweetness, spice and nutty depth to Craigellachie’s robust Speyside spirit, complementing the distillery’s naturally weighty, slightly sulphurous and fruit-forward character in a concentrated single cask release.

Nose
Opulent sherry nose with rich dried fruits—raisin, fig, orange peel—woven with warm spice and nutty depth. Sugared doughnuts and cheesecake sweetness mingle with milk chocolate, while creamy oak and a whisper of sulphur give Craigellachie’s robust, fruit-forward character a polished, inviting aroma.
Palate
On the palate, rich Oloroso sweetness coats the tongue with sugared doughnuts and cheesecake, balanced by milk chocolate. Spices—cinnamon and clove—bring warmth, while almond and walnut add nutty depth. A subtle green-bean lift keeps the fruit-forward core lively, finishing long, velvety, and cocoa-drenched with a warm, satisfying edge.
Finish
Velvety, long finish where Oloroso richness coats the palate with dried fruit, toasted almond and milk chocolate. Warm spice lingers, cocoa notes emerge, and soft oak carries the sweetness into a warm, nutty fade.
