Deep burnished amber with copper-gold highlights and a mahogany-tinged edge.

Nose

Fresh and fruity on the nose, with stewed prunes, silky marzipan, and black tea accented by lemon.

Palate

Elegant sherry coats the palate, with raisins and dried fruits, tempered by chocolate-covered walnuts and a notably malty depth; sweet but never cloying.

Finish

Long and beautifully spiced, with lingering dried fruits and a poised balance between sweetness and spice that lingers warmly.

Craigellachie
(Craig-ELL-a-key) Craigellachie was built in 1890, with production beginning in 1891, and was designed by Charles Doig for a consortium led by Alexander Edward and Peter Mackie. From the start it was closely tied to the White Horse blend, and that link shaped much of the distillery’s early history. Long known locally as the White Horse Distillery, Craigellachie later became part of Bacardi in 1998 through John Dewar & Sons.
