Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep burnished amber with coppery highlights and mahogany undertones.

Nose

Bright apples mingle with silky toffee and a whisper of garden flowers, evoking orchard sweetness and a delicate floral lift on the nose.

Palate

Fruit chews unfold with playful sweetness, braided with salted caramel for a creamy, savory edge. Red berries punctuate the mid-palate with bright, tart sweetness, leaving a gently salted, candy-like linger on the tongue.

Finish

An elongated, warming finish that lingers with spice, echoing the sherry-cask heart. Cinnamon and clove weave through lingering salted caramel and red berries, fading to a warm, oak-kissed glow that slowly lingers on the palate.

Craigellachie
(Craig-ELL-a-key) Craigellachie was built in 1890, with production beginning in 1891, and was designed by Charles Doig for a consortium led by Alexander Edward and Peter Mackie. From the start it was closely tied to the White Horse blend, and that link shaped much of the distillery’s early history. Long known locally as the White Horse Distillery, Craigellachie later became part of Bacardi in 1998 through John Dewar & Sons.
