A Single Cask Craigellachjie from Gordon and Macphail. Distilled in 2005 and bottled in 2019 as a 13 Year Old Single Malt. This has been matured in a refill Bourbon barrel and bottled at 46% ABV. One of 1314 bottles released.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Sweet and light floral aromas with apple blossom lead to malted barley. Pear and lime combines with soft vanilla fudge. Chocolate and traces of fresh pine develop together.

Palate

Sweet floral notes with black pepper and green apple evolve into flavours of creamy keylime pie. Hints of aniseed develop with an undertone of ripe banana and toasted oak.

Finish

Light bodied; liquorice and toffee combine on the finish.

Craigellachie
(Craig-ELL-a-key) Craigellachie was built in 1890, with production beginning in 1891, and was designed by Charles Doig for a consortium led by Alexander Edward and Peter Mackie. From the start it was closely tied to the White Horse blend, and that link shaped much of the distillery’s early history. Long known locally as the White Horse Distillery, Craigellachie later became part of Bacardi in 1998 through John Dewar & Sons.
