Tasting Notes
Colour
Golden amber with sunlit honey tones and a pale copper edge.
Nose
Coastal peat smoke dominates, braided with saline sea air, iodine and a whisper of medicinal brine. Bright lemon zest and green apple lift the nose, while vanilla, toffee and spiced oak lend warmth and depth. A subtle sherry-flecked sweetness threads through, finishing with a firm, cask-strength polish.
Palate
Powerful and poised, this Caol Ila uncoils peat smoke with medicinal coastal tang, sea salt and iodine. Sherry-touched depth brings fig, raisin and dark chocolate, wrapped in vanilla and toasted oak. At cask strength, it drives with warming spice, finishing long, smoky, salty and subtly sweet.
Finish
Long, maritime finish, peat lingering like smoke over a briny sea. Iodine and mineral notes give way to sherry-dark fruit and cocoa, bound by toasted oak. A warm spice fades slowly, leaving a refined, saline echo.
