"Sweet,fresh and quite subtle on the nose, green and grassy. Like soft velvet coating your mouth,sweet but not honey,more like peach in heavy syrup. Medium finish with the peat being very much in the background. Roasted almond toward the end."
Maybe it's a shame that the new official 25 year old isn't at cask strength, but don't let that put you off, this still is a fantastic dram with some well balanced interplay between peat, oak fruit and spice. Age has given this some tarrier, darker, ashy notes whilst still rertaining its elegant and oily distillery quality.

Colour
Deep golden amber with coppery undertones.
Nose
Sweet, fresh and quite subtle on the nose, green and grassy with a soft velvety sheen. A delicate peat whisper lingers, with ashy, tarred undertones and a faint roasted almond impression emerging toward the edges.
Palate
Silky, oil-laden on the palate, sweet without cloying—peach in heavy syrup over a green, grassy spine. Subtle peat threads the mid-palate, a wake of smoke lingering in the background as roasted almond, delicate oak fruit and spice unfold. A tarry, ash-tinged finish lingers, elegant and refined.
Finish
Medium finish with peat receding into the background, leaving a refined smoke. Roasted almond notes emerge toward the end, tinged with tarry, ashy warmth that lingers, carried on an elegant, oily finish with subtle spice.
