Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery highlights and mahogany undertones.
Nose
Ex-sherry cask amplifies Islay peat: bold sea-salt smoke and iodine mingle with dark fruit—prune, fig and raisin—softened by cocoa, vanilla and orange zest. Leather and spice add depth as a maritime resin lingers, a warm, cask-strength invitation to the senses.
Palate
Powerful peat smoke envelops the palate, mingling with medicinal iodine and sea-brine. Dark sherry fruit—raisin, fig, and a note of orange zest—coats the tongue with cocoa and treacle, while cask-strength warmth amplifies spice and black pepper. A long maritime finish lingers with ash, warmth, and a hint of sweetness.
Finish
Long, maritime finish of peat smoke and brine, slowly fed by sherry sweetness. Dried fruit—fig and raisin—coat the palate with cocoa and toffee, while toasted oak and spice prickle the senses. The cask strength warmth lingers, leaving a saline, ember-dusted finish that slowly fades.
