Distilled at Caol Ila in 2008, this Single Malt was allowed to mature for 16 years in a single hogshead cask. It was bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in 2024.

Tasting Notes: Lime and cocoa powder aroma lead to red apple and smoke, peanut brittle flavours infuse with honey and guava. A medium-bodied finish with pear, soft pepper and bonfire embers.

Lime and cocoa powder rise on the nose, revealing red apple and a gentle trail of smoke.

Red apple and smoky peat mingle on the palate, with peanut brittle sweetness, honey and guava. Medium-bodied, pear and soft pepper with lingering bonfire embers.

A medium-bodied finish that lingers with pear fruit, soft pepper and the glow of bonfire embers.

Caol Ila
(kowel-EEL-ah) Caol Ila was founded in 1846 by Hector Henderson near Port Askaig on Islay’s east coast, overlooking the Sound of Islay between Islay and Jura. Its Gaelic name refers to that stretch of water, and the site was chosen with access to sea transport and a water supply from Loch nam Ban. Ownership changed early, passing to Norman Buchanan in 1854 and then to Bulloch Lade & Co in 1863.
