A 2003 vintage Caol Ila matured in a first-fill bourbon barrel for 15 years, bottled in February 2019 for Gordon & McaPhail’s Connoisseurs Choice range.
On the nose, gentle smoke and apple aromas give way to vanilla and briny coastal notes. The palate starts with a hot spicy attack, before yelow fruit, mocha and a smoky herbaceousness. The finish is citrusy and savoury with a lingering peat smoke.
