The oldest release from the 2018 Diageo Special Release range. Less than 4000 bottles were produced worldwide.
Combining European and American oak this spectacular Caol Ila shows dusty wood and cinder toffee on the nose with a slight lifted white fruit aroma too. The palate is rich but has a herbal and spicy note coupled with a much stronger peat and smoke presence. On the finish it's unctuous and surprisingly silky with a cereal and nuttiness that lingers on and on.

Deep, honeyed amber with coppery highlights and a warm mahogany undertone.
Nose
Dusty wood and cinder-toffee rise from the nose, shaped by European and American oak, with a delicate lift of white-fruit aroma.
Palate
Rich and full on the palate, with herbal warmth and a bold spice underpinning a pronounced peat and smoke core. Dusty European and American oak lends structure, while hints of cinder-toffee weave through. The mouthfeel is velvety and substantial, with a nutty cereal edge lingering as the peat remains prominent.
Finish
Unctuous and silky, the finish lingers with a persistent cereal note and toasted nuttiness, while a whisper of smoke and peat threads through for a refined, lasting warmth.
