Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a whisper of mahogany.
Nose
Complex maritime aroma of sooty peat, herb-infused green olives and salted lime. A coastal, oily brightness threads through, with mineral salt and brine underpinning a fresh, refined bouquet that speaks of three decades of Islay depth.
Palate
Oil-laden and full-bodied, the palate delivers briny green olives, salted lime and herbaceous coastal peat. Sooty undertones mingle with coastal iodine, while a crisp freshness cuts through the richness. Despite its 55.1% ABV, it remains impeccably balanced, building to a long, maritime finish with lingering citrus, smoke and sea-salt.
Finish
Long, maritime finish of salty lime and olive brine, carried by the oily Caol Ila peat. The coastal smoke lingers with a salty mineral edge, then slowly softens to a briny sweetness, leaving a waxy, mineral warmth and a final whisper of seaside ash.
