Tasting Notes

Colour

Dark amber with copper-gold glow and mahogany reflections.

Nose

Fruit pastels mingle with fresh barley and bright citrus, as a gentle wisp of woodsmoke lingers, ever-present and drifting in and out of focus.

Palate

Classic Bunna, malty with a whisper of sea air. Poached pear lingers, chased by chocolate sauce; the finish is long, pepper-kissed and threaded with drifting woodsmoke.

Finish

Long, peppery finish with a drifting woodsmoke echo that lingers and gradually fades.

Bunnahabhain
(BUNNA-hah-ven) Built in 1881, Bunnahabhain is situated on the north east coast of Islay, overlooking the Sound of Islay near Caol Ila. Bunnahabhain's initial aim was to produce Whisky for blending only. While it was used across the industry, it performed a central role in three famous blends: Famous Grouse, Cutty Sark and Black Bottle. Following a short period of closure in the early 1980s, Bunnahabhain re-emerged as a Single Malt.
