A peated Bunnahabhain single malt from The Octave series, this 9 year old was distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2024 after maturation in an Oloroso sherry octave cask. Bottled at 50.7% ABV, the release was extremely limited to just 25 bottles.
Octave casks, much smaller than traditional sherry casks, intensify wood interaction and concentrate flavour. The Oloroso maturation brings rich dried fruit, spice and nutty depth, complementing Bunnahabhain’s peated style where coastal smoke and maritime character are balanced by layered sherry richness.

Coastal peat opens with bonfire smoke and smoked ham, layered over rich dried fruit and almond-nut depth from the Oloroso sherry. Ripe peaches mingle with citrus zest as spice winds through, finishing with a warm, saline, oak-kissed complexity.
Finish
Long, coastal smoke lingers into a nutty, dried-sherry finish, threaded with warming spice and a bright citrus lift that keeps the palate beckoning.
