Bruichladdich 125th Anniversary Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky 35 Year Old · 1970 Vintage
Out of stock
A 1970 vintage Bruichladdich released in 2006 to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the distillery.
Aged for 35 years in American oak and then finished for a short time in Pinot Gris casks from the legendary Domaine Zind Humbrecht.
Presented in a lovely wooden box including a certificate of authenticity.
This is just another fine bit of work from the Master Distiller himself, Jim McEwan - who incidentally has hand signed the rear of this bottle.
Bottled at a natural cask strength 40.1% ABV, this very rare bottling is limited to just 2,502 bottles worldwide and was awarded an excellent 91 points on the WhiskyFun review site.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Rich golden amber with warm copper undertones, a sunlit, honeyed depth.
Nose
Warm vanilla and toasted oak invite ripe pear and orchard fruit, lifted by citrus rind and a delicate spice from the Pinot Gris finish; a subtle maritime breeze lingers, lending elegance and refined complexity to the bouquet.
Palate
Silky and refined, pear and peach from the Pinot Gris finish mingle with vanilla and toasted oak from the American casks. A touch of citrus zest and almond lends brightness, while a coastal salinity and gentle spice linger through a long, elegant finish.
Finish
Long, elegant finish that unfolds from creamy vanilla and refined oak into ripe pear and white peach, a Pinot Gris whisper. Subtle almond and citrus zest drift with a hint of maritime salt, fading to a warm, polished memory that lingers gracefully.
