Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with coppery highlights and a touch of mahogany.
Nose
Madeira’s rich fruitiness floods the nose—raisin, fig, plum—intertwined with toasted malt and a honeyed sweetness. Nutty, malt-forward notes rise, joined by vanilla, oak and a kiss of spice (cinnamon, clove). A touch of rancio and dark chocolate hints, all lifted by the whisky’s substantial 57.2% ABV, signaling a bold, full-bodied Highland profile.
Palate
On the palate, a lush, full-bodied mouthful of Madeira-influenced fruit and malt. Rich notes of raisin, fig and date mingle with toasted almond and caramel sweetness, while nutmeg, cinnamon and clove thread through the texture. The 57.2% ABV provides a warming spine, leading to a long, malty finish with subtle oak and lingering spice.
Finish
Long, warm finish of rich Madeira fruit, with dried apricot and fig, threaded by gentle spice and toasted oak. The nutty, malt-forward core lingers, fading to almond and cocoa with a refined, slightly resinous finish.
