Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep, dark amber with mahogany depth and coppery highlights, a warm, honeyed glow evoking PX sherry maturation.
Nose
Opulent Pedro Ximénez perfume: dried figs, raisins and plums drenched in treacle, with orange zest and vanilla. Warm spice—cinnamon and clove—over malt-forward sweetness, while mature oak adds toasted notes, almond and a whisper of leather. Rich, layered and sueded, a scent that speaks to decades of noble maturation.
Palate
Dense dried fruit sweetness envelops the palate—raisin, fig and prune—carried by a syrupy Pedro Ximenez kiss. Malt-forward Benriach warmth emerges with toffee, cocoa and honeyed notes, while cinnamon and clove spice weave through. Mature oak provides structure and a velvet backbone, delivering a long, layered finish of fruit, spice and refined warmth.
Finish
Long and luxurious, the finish reveals deep dried-fruit sweetness—raisin, fig and prune—woven with PX treacle and warming spice. Oak and sherry linger, slowly fading into velvety warmth.
