Balvenie Tun 1401 Batch 8 opens with soft peat, camphor, beeswax and rain-soaked soil, then unfurls into soft fruits and Manuka honey. A waxy undertone and drying oak cradle a subtle rancio, while European sherry casks deepen the profile. The 50.2% ABV lends warmth and a peppery spine, finishing long with oak and fruit echoes.
Finish
Long, refined and nuanced, the finish opens with soft peat and camphor, fades into beeswax and rain-soaked soil, and carries hints of soft fruit and manuka honey. Sherry-cask warmth lingers, with drying oak and a delicate rancio echo, tapering to a waxy, polished fade and a quiet spice.
