Colour

Deep amber with a luminous copper-gold sheen and mahogany undertones.

Nose

Opulent sherry-draped aroma with ripe dried fruits—raisins and figs—balanced by orange zest and toffee. Cinnamon and clove weave through polished oak, while dark chocolate and espresso deepen the profile. A whisper of leather and cocoa lingers, inviting a graceful, lingering finish.

Palate

Silky and richly sherried, the palate unfolds with ripe raisin and fig, orange zest, and toffee-soaked oak. Spices—cinnamon and clove—linger with dark chocolate and espresso, delivering a luxurious, balanced sweetness that coats the tongue toward a long, warming finish.

Finish

Long, elegant finish with velvety oak and sherry sheen. Dried orange zest, raisin and dark chocolate linger, threaded by warm spice and toffee. A refined, warming tail that coats the palate, fading to walnut and cinnamon notes and a lasting, polished glow.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
