The Macallan 1987 Release Sherry Oak Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky (75cl) 18 Year Old · 1969 Vintage
In stock
Please note the low fill level on this bottle.
Ah, another super 'old style' bottling of the glorious Macallan 18 year old sherry cask. Distilled in 1969 and bottled in 1987. A slightly drier and more complex offering this one, quite leafy with fig, raisin and marmalade on the iniitial nose. The palate offers those classic sherried notes but also a touch herbal and with chewy tannins and cedar wood. There's a good finish to it with a nice spicy touch reminicent of nutmeg and ginger.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep copper-amber with rich mahogany undertones and a warm, tawny glow.
Nose
Refined and slightly drier, this nose opens with leafy depth, revealing fig and raisin notes intertwined with marmalade. The sherry sweetness is present but balanced, with whispers of herbal undertones and cedar that promise complexity and elegance.
Palate
Sherried and luxurious on the palate, with fig and raisin giving way to herbal hints. Chewy tannins and cedar wood provide structure, while a muted oak sweetness threads through. The finish broadens into warm spice—nutmeg and ginger—leaving a long, refined note that speaks to Macallan’s sherry oak maturity.
Finish
Long, luxurious finish with a warm spice of nutmeg and ginger, carried by cedar wood and a whisper of dried fruit, fading into elegant warmth.
